My Honest Thoughts Of The Master Cleanse Diet

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009
by Laura Jade

Are you amazed at how Beyonce was able to lose whopping 20 pounds just mere days before she had to start filming Dreamgirls? Are you curious as to how Jared Leto was able to reclaim his hot body after he had put on 62 pounds to play his role in Mark David Chapman? No, it does not involve chefs making you salads 3 times a day nor does it include hiring a gym trainer.

I am pretty sure that you know something about the master cleanse diet. If you have not tried it, then probably you are intrigued by it. The master cleanse diet is originally a cleansing diet that was designed by alternative medicine practitioner Stanley Burroughs during the 1940s. Although this diet was created to be a detox diet but now it is more popular for its reducing properties.

What this diet is all about is the simple consumption of lemonade during the entire period of 10 days and nothing else but that. So basically this is a liquid diet. The lemonade that I am talking about is a mixture of fresh lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. The maple syrup you may decrease in quantity if you want but do not remove any of the ingredients when making your lemonade. You may have to get used to the taste of cayenne pepper but never take it out.

Before you go all out on the lemonade, you will have to go through an ease in period first.

The ease-in period is a couple of days directly prior the start of the diet which will be used for your body to get ready for what lies ahead. For this particular diet, you will need to trade in heavy meals with lighter ones consisting mainly of fruits and vegetables to prepare you for the days when you will be taking in nothing but lemonade.

After the ease in period you can start with your diet. The average diet period is 10 days but then it can vary for different people. Some may want to diet more and extend it to 12 days.

However, a few may only be able to diet for a period of 7 days. As long as you follow the instructions meticulously it wont be a problem. Drink the lemonade anytime you need to or want to.

Finally, you will have to partner your lemonade consumption with laxatives. The role of the laxatives is to allow for proper movement of your bowels. You will not have any fiber in your diet of lemonade so you will have to get it from the laxatives.

The laxatives are there to solve that teensy problem for you.

Diet, Nutrition, and Weight loss

A nutritional diet is a crucial part of having any healthy lifestyle. In addition to exercise and general well being, a nutritional diet is certainly not something that you want to avoid. A nutritional diet will help to ensure that you stay healthy and the longer term.

Contrary to popular belief, starving yourself or steeping meals is not going to make you lose weight. It is also going to be unhealthy in the longer term and you will find it easier to put on weight again afterwards. This slows down your metabolism and is actually counterproductive. You want to be speeding up your metabolism by having proper meals several times a day.

There are three types are nutrients that the body needs; carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It is more about getting the right sort of these nutrients, but either way your body needs all three to function healthily and normally. A balanced meal should contain each of these the contents in one form or another.

One helpful tip that will help you get started having a nutritional diet is that you should always make a detailed shopping list before you go out. In addition, it is also good idea to have a meal before you go shopping for food, since this will help you to avoid the temptation of buying junk food when you are strolling amongst the supermarket shelves.

Planning meals beforehand is also a good idea. This will help to ensure that you have a rigid healthy routine to stick to. You can also help by preparing your meals the day before. Also, make sure that you have plenty of fibre in your diet and fresh produce.

Lose Belly Fat Naturally and Easily

You would be surprised with the number of individuals who are trying to lose weight at any given time. There are some people that only try on occasion, perhaps buying some diet foods or joining a gym and then quickly losing interest in the entire process. Other people, however, may obsess over the idea of the weight loss trend that they are currently trying and jump from one weight-loss system to another without ever letting the one that they are using take hold.

There are a few reasons why people are having such a difficult time with their weight, and more than likely you are probably familiar with those reasons. We live busy lives and as a result, we tend to eat the wrong things because they are readily available. We also tend to lead lives which are rather sedentary and a lack of exercise certainly can contribute to a considerable amount of weight gain.

Fortunately, you’re not left without options as far as how you can lose weight but it is necessary for you to understand the basics about weight loss before you do anything else. Weight loss is more of a science than an emotional necessity and at times, it is necessary for you to forget everything that you know about weight loss in order to fill your mind with accurate ideas. Here are a few that may have escaped you.

The main problem that is occurring has to do with the way that the body handles the sugar that we put into it. I’m not only talking about processed sugar but any type of sugar, even what comes from vegetables and fruits. Whenever sugar enters into our body, the body amazingly produces insulin in order to assimilate the sugar and to use it effectively. If there is too much sugar in the blood stream, the insulin simply grabs it and stores it as a fat cell. It plans on getting back to it eventually, but we don’t give it the opportunity to do it.

That is why it is important for you to watch the type of foods that you are eating, not necessarily restricting yourself from too much eating. If you’re able to eat foods that release the sugar slowly into your bloodstream, your insulin will not have a difficult time overcoming the problem of additional sugar. Your body will kick into gear and will do exactly what it was meant to do. We need to eat the right types of food in order to achieve this.

The glycemic index is an often forgotten list of foods which indicates how quickly the sugar from the food is released into your body. If you only eat foods that are low on the glycemic index, your insulin level will remain steady throughout the day and weight loss will be much easier. Not only that, you will avoid many of the highs and lows that you’re probably feeling right now.

You need to understand that there is a little bit more to losing weight effectively than simply eating the right foods, but it is the best place for you to start. It is a proven fact that people who eat properly are more successful at maintaining a good body weight than those who do not eat properly but exercise. The first step in doing this is eating foods that are low glycemic, and that will cause the weight to begin to come off of you quickly and naturally.

Colon Cleansing For Weight Loss

Monday, June 15th, 2009
by Holly Ann

One quick way to lose weight is to do a colon cleansing. The amount of weight you lose doing a colon cleanse and the ability to keep the weight off depend on the individual. Cleaning the colon can lead to an amazing, initial loss of twenty or more pounds.

The food we consume is virtually full of toxins and pollutants. Processed foods from chip and cookies to canned foods and sodas fill our diets while filling our bodies with pollutants. Our immune system is compromised by environmental pollution and stressors. All of this has a significant impact on the colon. Many people believe that a colon cleanser is only meant to relieve constipation. The truth is that we are all subject to toxins that negatively affect our bodies. We could all benefit from a colon cleanse.

Dramatic initial weight loss following a colon cleanse is the result of waste material being moved from the colon. As much as fifteen to twenty pounds of waste can be dried and caked in one’s colon. A detox will flush these toxic substances from your body, and the result will be instant weight loss.

Colon cleanses can be done naturally or by using over-the-counter preparations. The safest, most effective way to treat your colon is by using natural ingredients. The best way to begin your colon cleanse is to drink water at room temperature. At this temperature water helps cleanse your colon and even exhibits obesity-fighting properties.

There are additional steps to assist you with your natural colon cleanse. Eat more raw fruit and vegetables. Refrain from cooked food and avoid meats and eggs. You should also stay away from all processed foods, including dairy products and sweets, caffeinated and alcoholic drinks.

Begin your weight loss and colon cleanse in the right way. You will gain extra energy and stamina. You will also find that you suffer less from headaches, depression, and fatigue. A colon cleanse will make you feel much better, but remember, it takes about two weeks for your body to become completely detoxified.

Cider Vinegar – One Of The Secret Foods That Speed Up Metabolism

Thursday, June 11th, 2009
by Dan Beckwith

Stop pumping yourself full of harmful diet pills and chemicals…there actually ARE foods that speed up metabolism and one of them may be closer than you think. Dump the extreme diet, working out till you can’t stand it any more and all the other tortures we submit ourselves to. Your kitchen cupboard may already hold the secret to your extra weight falling away! Cider vinegar. Odd I know but it may just be what you’ve been missing.

Never expected that one, right? I know I sure didn’t when I first heard of it. Tests and studies have tried to determine why it works, but so far…no one has been able to prove anything. It’s one of those things that has been around and working for so long, that people just do it for that reason alone.

There HAVE been some theories as to why cider vinegar works in weight loss. Many people believe – as I do – that it’s one of the foods that speed up metabolism. It helps speed up our bodies ability to digest food and turn it into energy.

Others have proposed that cider vinegar actually burns the calories in your body – thus helping you to lose weight.

It’s been theorized that it aids in cleansing the liver, which can have a big impact in weight loss.

A recent experiment has shown that taking a little cider vinegar just before eating will help you feel fuller and not tend to overeat. Admittedly, this was a small study and more tests have to be done, but the results looked good.

Has it stood the test of time? That’s a question we should all ask ourselves when looking into the latest foods that speed up metabolism. Is it just another fad that it probably already on the way out before we can even try it? Check this out…it’s about as far from a fad as you can get! Cider vinegar – used as a food supplement for weight loss – can be traced all the way back to the ancient Egyptians!

There are several ways to include cider vinegar into your weight loss efforts. The easiest and least costly is to just add a little bit of cider vinegar to a glass of water or juice. Then, drink it just before or with your meal.

You could also get commercially made tablets and capsules. As one of the foods that speed up metabolism they still work and generally include other nutrients as well. They frequently have vitamin B6 and lecithin. They may actually have as much or more impact on your weight loss as the cider vinegar. Your health food store can provide them or a quick search online will find several sources.

Cider vinegar is healthy for you in addition to helping with weight loss. It’s teeming with vitamins and minerals and can improve your overall health as well as work on various health problems. You should consider putting it in your diet even if you have no need to lose weight.

In addition to being used as one of the foods that speed up metabolism, it’s been known to help with diabetes, arthritis pain, digestion and sore throats. it contains potassium which helps lower blood pressure and fiber which absorbs the cholesterol that causes heart problems.

True, cider vinegar is one of the foods that speed up metabolism but there are also some risks that you should be aware of and take into account. It’s very acidic which means that if you don’t dilute it, it could burn and damage your teeth, mouth and throat. Always dilute it in juice or water before using. Like with anything else, if you have any serious medical issues…see a doctor before you start using cider vinegar.

There’s a massive amount of interesting articles and information about foods that speed up metabolism on my website. You can also get a FREE copy of my “Fast Weight Loss Tips!” mini-course before I start charging for it. Check it out right now!

How To Make A Great Weight Loss Shake

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009
by Jay NaPier

Protein shakes have become popular for those who want to lose weight. Protein comes with many benefits but the protein shakes make you feel like you had a full solid meal. Many weight loss shakes on the market promise results but they fail most of the time.

If you read the label, you’ll see many have high amounts of sugar and a low calorie count. While lower calories are a quick way to lose weight, you are also restricting your intake of calories, which is bad for your metabolism. Fat is also a good thing in your shake as it is necessary for your body to burn excess fat.

You can make your own weight loss shakes at home. Be sure to you are getting the right balance of nutrients first. These shakes will cost less than the commercial weight loss shakes. These weight loss shakes that you make are of ingredients you choose. Adding your favorite fruits and vegetables to make a great tasting weight loss shake! Using your own fruits and vegetables will ensure that you have your essential daily minerals and vitamins. Fruits are very high in fiber. The fiber is absorbed in your body when the fruit is well mashed. It breaks down the nutrients throughout your body and it flushes the toxins out as well.

Use a protein powder with homemade weight loss shake. The protein powder comes in whey, egg, or soy. High levels of protein are added when you mix it with your weight loss shake. It keeps your body healthy and it builds new muscles. You want your muscles kept lean when you are losing weight. The protein powder boosts your immune system, if you take it daily. It can make your body more active.

Low-fat or non-fat milk can be used for your weight loss shake. Milk is a great source for calcium and Vitamin D. Other types of liquid you can use for your shake: Coconut oil speeds up the metabolism and Yogurt is enriched with calcium. Milk should always be used when you are on your journey to weight loss. The milk’s calcium will accelerate your metabolism and the fat will burn off quicker.

After you make your selection of ingredients, all you need is a blender and you are ready to go! Opt for fresh picked fruits or vegetables and cut them into individual pieces. Organic products are recommended, they are not chemically processed, and you are guaranteed that the products will be fresh.

And finally add the protein powder. Start by reading the instructions, then simply follow along with the recipe. Realize that you might not like the first few time your make it, so expect to play with it a bit before you find the right consistency for you. Adding ice cubes will make the shake more like a shake. If you want it thicker, just add more mix and ice. A bananna will help make it thick as well.

Now you’re read for a great meal replacement. It’s a great time saver and better than just about anything you could think of to replace a meal. The side effects are that pounds you’re going to lose because you made a better decision.
